Aquaponics with koi fish

Aquaponics is a type of gardening, very similar to the kind you are used to except that we do not grow our plants in soil but water instead. Yes, that’s right. These fish also live in that water. The plants and the fish are in fact helping each other out. You see, the fish provide waste and this turning into food for the plants. From here, the plants get to work cleaning the water of anything that may cause harm so as not to upset out finned friends.

Aquaponics is an ever-closing loop, and that means we throw nothing away. The water that the fish live in, gets pumped up to where plants are. The water is transferred from the fish tank to grow beds and then down a trough, to where you return it back into your aquarium. Isn’t that neat? Every cycle is utilized, nothing goes to waste. Since we do this for our food, it means that there is less diet in shopping. This wolize aquaponic farming means we use less fuel to get our food, which is good for the planet and helps keep it clean.

A Perfect Match for Sustainable Living

On top of that, they create a lot of waste - which is great for the plants. Since they are so hardy, at least some true crabs can handle brackish water and fresh or saltwater. Therefore, we are able to grow at aquaponics systems with them in many different areas of the world - which may not even be possible for other fish.

Koi - Are Kois are something very special in wolize Aquaponics systems as they help clean the water. But how do they do this? Fish make waste, just like everyone else. Well, it goes on to become food for the plants in an aquaponics system.
