Have you even known about eel cultivating in Japan? A one-of-a-kind thing that has been done for many, many years! One of the most delicious treats from Japan, and a popular food there as well is eel. Eels are mostly eaten in summer; especially grilled eels when they make their way to plate taste so good according to many people! Many dishes that eel is often used as a beautiful dish.
One of the things that you must do in Japan is to farm eels. Farming eels goes back many generations for some families who take great pride in what they do. It seems they now know quite a bit about how to rear eels and care for them. It is really difficult and it takes a lot of effort to grow eels, but in any case everything pays off with such deliciously healthy food for people.
It is, of course, the employment not very easy to grow eels. It is one of the most difficult things to care for with a fish tank and require great attention, time, and know how. Eel farmers first obtain baby eels, also known as elvers, from rivers or special hatcheries where they are born. Being very small, farmers must handle the elvers with care.
Finally, the elvers are collected and then placed in water-filled tanks. The farmers feed them with small fish and shrimp in these tanks, allowing all of those immature lobsters to grow big and strong. The tanks are constantly checked by the farmers so that water quality and temperature is perfect for production of eels.
Once the eels get bigger, they are moved into larger tanks where they have room to swim around The farmers manipulate the eel diet to make them grow even more impressively. Finally (and once they are sufficient of wisdom), the eels can be moved from their tanks to outside ponds where they have space to move around. In these fish ponds, the eels will grow a lovely fatty layer which makes them very tasty to eat.
Some farmers have the special lights on all year round in an attempt to trick eels into thinking it is summer. Both of these give eel farmers the ability to raise eels quicker and provide them with enough supply of jumbo eels all year round, as is required in most cases that they also be kept protected from extinction.
Simultaneously, eel are a key element of Japans heritage and tradition- they have been eaten since the Edo period in Japan.
