Fish culture in intensive: the fish are cultured in tanks or ponds. In tanks and ponds specifically created for them, the fish are safe from outside predators. The fish receives lots of food and care, thus grow up fast as well as in healthy. This level of dedication is evident by the constant monitoring provided to these fish - ensuring they get everything needed for them do well in those waters.
Intensive fish culture can be an advantage in that it can produce a lot of fish out of a small area. So their fish do not occupy a vast area of land or water space. It makes them more resource cantered. It even protects the fish from animals such as some birds and other predators that may want to eat them. This technique also helps in preserving the fish so that they can grow naturally.
Extensive fish culture has at least one advantage over the recirculating approach. The natural fish habitat means that the available food required to keep them alive and healthy is less. It makes it a more sustainable option for the environment as, in turn, helps ecosystems to stay balanced. It is possible for farmers to produce fish as inhabitants in the environment, without harming the environment.
Nevertheless, there are some problems associated with intensive fish culture. The health of the fish can be difficult to monitor in great expanses. Fish farming with less control over the conditions of their life compared to intensive artificial fish culture. There are also more opportunities for predators, such as larger fish or birds, to prey upon them. Also susceptible of the disease and that it is extremely bad for fish populations in general
This obviously means fish farmers must consider some things to effectively take actions in extensive operations. First and foremost is the question what type of fish to source. Some fish may thrive in one or more of the above environments while another might require something from a different category. Certain fish require warm water while many others do best in colder temperatures. Farmers must choose the right fish for their actual natural water body.
On that note, you'll also want to be mindful of the water. Safe and clean water is that where the fish can survive. Dirty or polluted water will also put the fish in danger. Farmers have to check the water every day, needs good quality of water. Such routine inspection is essential to preserve an intensive fish culture system.
